Impact
We measure our impact not by numbers, but by the ripples we create, the stories carried, voices amplified, lives changed, and knowledge passed forward.
The story isn’t yours or mine. it belongs to the fire, and those who share it.
Stories carry power. The power to heal wounds, bridge divides, and guide us toward a better future. The world needs it now, more than ever. The impact of the VA Network isn’t measured by views or clicks; it is measured in the ripples of impact we create, in the lives we change, the minds we inspire, the change we facilitate. It’s not about growth, but increase – increasing what is known, increasing what can be known, increasing the effect we can have on individuals and communities all around the world.
This is the impact of the VA Network: a fire that doesn’t burn, but illuminates. It casts light on the forgotten, the silenced, the unseen. It warms the hearts of those ready to listen and calls forth the courage to act. Through these stories, we don’t just remember who we are – we reclaim our place in the great web of life. We reawaken our responsibilities as custodians, not just of land, but of relationships, of wisdom, of the future itself.
This is more than storytelling; it is truth-telling. It is the medicine the world needs, shared around a campfire that refuses to fade. Together, we can light the way forward – not just for us, but for every being, every spirit, every thread in the intricate weave of creation. Because the fire we tend here is not ours alone. It belongs to all, to those who came before, those who walk with us now, and those yet to come.

A fire Where Stories Find Their Place, Voices Are Honored, and Knowledge Lives On.
napagi napagi give give
In the language of the Central Desert of Australia, there is a saying, Napagi Napagi. It’s often translated as reciprocity, but that word barely scratches the surface of its meaning. It’s more than a give-and-take; it’s give-and-give. A loop of generosity that spirals outwards, a never-ending harmony, that sustains all life. It’s a pattern, an echo, a rhythm that resonates across cultures, generations, and all living systems.
This philosophy is at the heart of The VA Network. It shapes everything we do. Our commitment to giving back – to the land, to the people, to the stories themselves – is not a choice; it’s a responsibility. A way of ensuring that the threads of connection we braid today remain strong for the generations yet to come.
We are the ancestors of the future, and we stand at a turning point. It is our obligation, our moral imperative to reimagine our place in the circle of life, not as its centre but gathered around the campfire alongside all creatures of creation. Every action we take, every choice we make, ripples outward, touching lives, shaping ecosystems, and influencing the future.
The survival of life – the animals, plants, rivers, skies, the spirits of our ancestors and lives of our descendants – all depends on our ability to step back into relation, to see the patterns of creation and to live as custodians of the lore. This is what sustainability truly means – not just surviving but thriving in harmony with all that is.
This is where Napagi Napagi comes in. It’s not just an idea; it’s a way of being. A return to giving without expectation, to sharing without calculation, to living as part of the whole. Through our work, through the stories we help tell, through the pathways we create for the next generation, we are moving toward this way of being.
Napagi napagi. Gadugi. Ganoñhsésge. Wóohečhota. K’é: K’é. Wherever you go in the world there is the same way – because it’s the right way.
Driven by purpose, not profit.
Our mission never was and never will be driven by profit, but by purpose. We are a not-for-profit project because the work we do cannot and should not be measured by financial gain, nor should it be kept behind a paywall. Our purpose goes beyond the bottom line and is rooted in the belief that every story matters, that every community deserves the opportunity to thrive, that every member, even its youngest ones, can make the biggest difference.
Operating as a not-for-profit, donating 100% of the profits allows us to stay true to our values, and what was asked of us, and ensures that our resources, energy, and focus are directed toward empowering the youth, supporting communities, and nurturing the creative expression of those whose voices have too often been marginalized, silenced, or drowned out. We exist to serve, to uplift, and to connect – not to accumulate wealth or power. We are accountable to the communities we serve, not to shareholders. This accountability to the lore ensures that every decision we make is in the best interest of those who entrust us with their stories, their hopes, and their futures. It also allows us to reinvest every dollar earned back into the communities we work with, creating a cycle of support that builds resilience, fosters creativity, and inspires lasting change.
Being a not-for-profit project is a reflection of the lore, the stories, the communities, the people and the land that guide us. Our work is built on the principles of reciprocity, community, and sustainability – not on competition or individual gain.

This fire does not burn for one person alone. It is for all of us, for the ancestors who walked before, for the children who will inherit what we leave behind, and for the land that holds us all.
The fire is only as strong as the hands that tend it. The VA Network is built on reciprocity, on the understanding that stories are not just told – they are carried, woven into the fabric of our shared existence, and returned to the communities they come from in ways that sustain, uplift, and empower. Every contribution – whether through engagement, sharing, or direct support – fuels this cycle of giving, ensuring that the impact of these stories is not just felt but lived.
When you donate, you are not just funding a platform; you are investing in the preservation of knowledge, the amplification of Indigenous voices, and the creation of tangible change. Your support helps fund community-led storytelling, language revitalization, environmental restoration, and education programs that strengthen the roots of cultural survival. It helps build spaces where traditions thrive, where young custodians learn from their Elders, where stories do not fade but evolve, guiding us forward.
There are many ways to be part of this movement. You can contribute directly, support projects that align with your values, or simply spread the word – because every ember shared carries light to where it is needed most.

the fire burns because we gather
It’s important to talk about trust – not the kind that comes with flashy promises, but the kind that sits within a relationship. I know what it’s like to wonder if the things we support actually give where they say they do . I ask those questions, and I think you should as well.
That’s why transparency and accountability aren’t just values for us – they’re the way we walk. We show all our work, plain and simple: reports, impact assessments, financial statements, all of it laid out so you can see exactly what your support is doing. But it’s not just about numbers on a page. It’s about showing the change on the ground, in the lives of the people, in the strength of the relationships we’re building. And it’s not a one-time deal; it’s continuous and ongoing because relationships aren’t transactions – they have obligations.
We hold each other accountable, because this is a partnership, a braiding of trust. Your trust in us, and our trust in you, our trust in each other to walk in this together. When you join us, (whether as an individual, a family, a community, or an organization) you’re not just supporting a project; you’re stepping into relation. You’re making a direct difference in the lives of thousands of people – sisters, brothers, aunties, uncles, mums, dads, grandmas, and grandpas.
This is your invitation to join a movement built on the power of lore, the preservation of culture, conservation of the lands we all call Home, and the understanding that we’re all connected in this journey, together, as one.
